serenity flow yoga
Temple Yoga by Serenity Flow Yoga is a 90-minute cultural wellness experience combining mindful movement, Japanese tradition, and meaningful connection.
Practice yoga in the peaceful atmosphere of Kinryuji Temple, then sit down for Japanese matcha tea and sweets with the head priest.
A Different Way to Experience Tokyo
Tokyo is exciting, vibrant, and constantly moving.
But behind its busy streets is another side of Japan — one rooted in stillness, mindfulness, tradition, and simplicity. Temple Yoga invites you to slow down and experience that side of the city.
Surrounded by the quiet atmosphere of a Buddhist temple, you’ll move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself before sharing tea and conversation with the temple’s head priest.
No previous yoga experience is necessary.
Come exactly as you are.
Your Temple Yoga Experience
1. Arrive at Kinryuji Temple
Leave the busy streets behind and step inside the peaceful surroundings of a traditional Buddhist temple in Asakusa.
Take a moment to settle in, meet your instructor, and prepare for your practice.
2. 60-Minute Temple Yoga
Move through a mindful, all-levels yoga practice surrounded by the stillness of the temple. The class combines breath, movement, gentle strength, and moments of quiet reflection.
Whether this is your first yoga class or you practice regularly, variations will be offered so you can move comfortably at your own pace.
3. Japanese Tea & Conversation with the Head Priest
After yoga, stay for 30 minutes of Japanese tea and sweets. Sit together with the head priest and learn more about the temple, Buddhism, Japanese traditions, and daily life at a Buddhist temple.
Ask questions, share conversation, or simply enjoy the moment. It is an opportunity for cultural exchange that you rarely experience on a typical visit to Tokyo.
Who Is This Experience For?
Temple Yoga is perfect for solo travelers, couples, friends, yoga lovers, beginners, and anyone looking for a meaningful experience in Tokyo beyond traditional sightseeing.
You do not need to be flexible or experienced in yoga.
The class is designed to be accessible to different levels and backgrounds.
All you need is comfortable clothing and a bottle of water.

I created Serenity Flow Yoga with a simple vision: to create a place where people from around the world can come together through yoga. Temple Yoga is an extension of that vision.
Through this experience, I hope to share not only the practice of yoga, but also the beauty of slowing down, connecting with others, and experiencing Japanese culture in a more personal way.
